Five for the Weekend

A brief weekly round-up of some things that are good.

This week I learned that, per the photo above, John Steinbeck was not only a towering figure of 20th-century literature, but also pretty hot! (Thanks to Laura for inadvertently alerting me to this fact.)

As if I couldn't love Harrison Ford even more than I already do, he went and gave this extremely classy acceptance speech at the SAG Awards.

I had the joy and privilege of writing about Richard Hell and the apartment he's lived in for over 50 years for the New York Times.

My friend and and fellow writing group member Laura Spence-Ash just got an amazing book deal for her new novel The Thing You Most Wanted. I am so proud of her. More news like this every week, please!
